A Kannapolis Christmas will officially kick off with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. The Celebration then continues with the Kannapolis Christmas Festival on Saturday, December 6 beginning at 2pm.
The Tree Lighting will be the start of the 2014 Celebration of Lights in Kannapolis. The Celebration of Lights boasts more than 250,000 lights. The Park is lit and the train will run every evening from Saturday, November 29th – December 30th (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The Winterland Express will also be running to take riders through the lights at the park from 6:00-9:30 p.m. Admission to the park and viewing of the lights is free; tickets to ride the train are $2.00.
Again this year kids of all ages will be able to visit Santa in his studio from 6:00-9:00 p.m. each night. Special appearances from Mrs. Claus are also scheduled on Monday nights so Santa can get some work done back at the North Pole! The park will also feature performances from our very own Kannapolis Singing Bears, who will entertain the young and young at heart with a 30 minute Christmas Carol performance each hour on the hour beginning at 6 p.m. each evening and running through 9:30 p.m.
