
DECEMBER 24 UPDATE: The Winterland Express & Celebration of Lights will be closed Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day. The lights will be back on and the train will be running again on Monday, December 26.
A Kannapolis Christmas officially kicked off with a successful Kannapolis Christmas Festival on December 3 at 2:00 p.m.
That was just the start of the 2011 Celebration of Lights in Kannapolis. The Celebration of Lights boasts more than 175,000 lights and takes place at Village Park from Saturday, December 3 – 31 (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
Again this year kids of all ages will be able to visit Santa in his studio from 6:00-9:00 p.m. each night. The park will also feature performances from our very own Kannapolis Singing Bears, who will entertain the young and young at heart with a 30 minute Christmas Carol performance each hour on the hour beginning at 6 p.m. each evening and running through 9:30 p.m. Village Park will also have a light show accompanied by music.
The Winterland Express will also take riders through the lights at the park from 6:00-9:30 p.m. Tickets are $2.00.
